The Los Angeles Dodgers opened their series against the Miami Marlins with an 8-4 victory on Monday night at loanDepot park.

Right-hander Ryan Knack (2-1) earned the win, allowing just two hits and two walks while striking out five over five shutout innings. The Dodgers bullpen turned in a solid performance, with Phil Bickford, Alex Vesia, and Craig Kimbrel combining to allow two runs on four hits and two walks over the final four innings.

The Dodgers offense was led by a trio of home runs, with leadoff hitter Michael A. Taylor going deep in the first inning, followed by solo shots from catcher Will Smith in the fourth and designated hitter Jake Lamb in the sixth.

The Marlins got on the board in the sixth inning on a two-run single by first baseman Lewin Díaz, but the Dodgers answered right back with two runs of their own in the bottom of the inning on a RBI single by center fielder James Outman and a sacrifice fly from Taylor.

The Marlins added two more runs in the eighth inning on a RBI groundout by shortstop Miguel Rojas and a sacrifice fly from Díaz, but Kimbrel retired the side in order in the ninth to secure the victory.

With the win, the Dodgers improve to 25-17 on the season, while the Marlins fall to 18-24.
