Chadron State Football Drops Season Finale, 24-38, To Jamestown
Chadron, Neb. – The Chadron State football team played a hard-fought game, but they ultimately fell to the University of Jamestown Jimmies, 24-38, in their final home game of the 2022 season on Saturday afternoon.
The Eagles entered the game with a 7-3 record, while the Jimmies were 8-2. The game was close throughout, but Jamestown was able to pull away in the fourth quarter.
Chadron State got on the board first with a field goal in the first quarter. Jamestown answered back with a touchdown in the second quarter, but Chadron State tied the game with a touchdown of their own before halftime.
Jamestown took the lead for good in the third quarter with a touchdown and a field goal. Chadron State cut the lead to 24-21 with a touchdown in the fourth quarter, but Jamestown scored two more touchdowns to put the game away.
Chadron State quarterback Jayden Johannsen was 19-of-33 passing for 219 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for 55 yards. Running back Josh Miles led the Eagles with 76 rushing yards on 18 carries.
Jamestown quarterback Cade Peterson was 14-of-23 passing for 209 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Isaiah Weston led the Jimmies with 108 rushing yards on 20 carries.
The loss drops Chadron State to 7-4 on the season. They will finish the regular season on the road next Saturday against the University of Sioux Falls.
